removing a doll joint Posted by Angel in Tx on May 31, 2011
I was making a leg for a bird out of a fabric covered slinky... long story short I attached it with a doll joint.  The slinky got messed up but I still want to use the puppet.  Any advice on how to remove the joint without messing up the foam and fabric?

Use a hacksaw to slide between the joint and cut off the stem.  Then you will need to replace the male side of the joint.  If you hot glued it in then use the tip of the hot glue gun to heat the glue under the fabric. pull fabric edges as you are pushing the glue gun tip under the fabric.  Don't squeeze trigger.  LOL

Well my husband saved the day! Yay!  I didn't have a hacksaw, but he just cut the male side of joint down close and pulled it apart!
