Actually no, I used the wrist loop from the armrod to join the hands together and the actual armrod goes thru the hole at the bottom 0f the platform. The thread you see is the thread I used to keep the whole drum kit in horizontal suspension, the thread goes from the drums, in various places, to the around the neck of Eddie. It's a bit messy but because its short notice. The concept is good though. With him wearing black you can't really see much from the front.

This is kind of off topic but can someone help me out...I remember reading a post from a puppeteer that built a stand for his puppets, it could hold 6 puppets I think, I can't find the post anywhere. It was around 3' x 1' (he posted a picture of it)dimensions and would be ideal for me to store puppets behind the stage to deter puppeteers put the puppets on the floor, thanks?

Hey that was ME I think!! I did indeed build a rack of approximately those dimensions that holds 11 puppets. I used 1" PVC and fittings and pressure fit it all together. If you'd like some photos of it without puppets on it I'd be happy to snap a couple. Also I could provide dimensions, etc. Just let me know. In the meantime here's the original photos.

I love this stand as well.  Free standing, takes up little room. I need to build one too!

I'll try to take a picture of it tomorrow and get you those dimensions. I'd do it now but the rack is in the bedroom that my visiting grandson is sleeping in.

Found these ratcheting PVC cutters at my Home Depot for around $20 and boy am I glad I picked them up. WAY faster and easier than sawing the stuff. Also no mess to clean up!

Hi Puppetainer, no hurry.
I actually have one of those tools, I really don't saw, lol. I just position it and when I cut and release it clicks and you end up with a really clean cut.

Okay Rosie I'm one step closer! I took some photos but forgot to take measurements before the little guy went down for his nap. LOL. Oh well I'll have those later today but for now here's the photos I took.

First a front view of the "naked" puppet rack


Here's a side view. I angled the posts forward on the bottom 2 racks so I wouldn't have to build it as high.


And here's a view of the back. Originally planned on a stabilizing bar on the base just like the one on the front but found it didn't really need it and it saved on floor space.



Lastly another shot of it FULL of puppets! After all the first shot didn't have it fully stocked with 11 puppets and it wasn't very well lit.



I'll run in there with a tape measure later today and have some dimensions for you ASAP!

This is really a great stand, Puppetainer. I have a question... what does "pressure fit it all together" mean?

Pressure fit means that the pipes where not glued together. This is pretty common when folks use PVC pipe for things like this including as a stage. It makes it easier to take apart and store or move.  Sometimes only parts that are vertical are glued together like on a stage but then some horizontal joints are left unglued so you can compact down and store or move.
