Doesn't everything? Foam does age badly when left in the light.

Shadow puppets are terrible: most made out of cardboard, they get wet too easily. Of course, cardboard is far cheaper than latex

Talcum has been mentioned somewhere on this site before I think (for latex).

Na is correct. Once your latex is dry you dust it with talcum to keep it from sticking to itself.

Baby powder and talcum are essentially the same thing. It is what I always used.

I guess that a baby powder could have some oils in it that might be harsh on latex but I never had an issue. I also used a very basic cheap one that did not have extra stuff added into it. Read on the label and see if it mentions anything that is added extra. The added oils would most likely be for moisturizing or something like that.

Yeah. But for some reasons here there doen't seem to be a law that says: but the ingridience on baby powder, too. I think that is a crime- imagine a baby was allergic? All the can says is: baby powder. And of course advertisement...

Haha, no I just meant if you're working with kids and they spill something on the puppet, or whatever.

Me too. I only remember really because I made a large prop out of thick cardboard once, but it was too big to cover well. Transporting it to the theatre in the rain was tricky. It's why I like to avoid making shadow puppets with just the cardboard; I laminate for protection.
