Oh now that is even better! You'd have to be sure there is no glare on the plastic if the lights are bright, but I may try that too! It would slip over quicker too!!

They sell non-glare sheet protectors too so they would work. Like I said I love brainstorming! Snail had a great idea, LJ came up with a tweak and then I came up with another. Together we're unstoppable!

How clever! So all you need to do to move to the next page of script is pull down on the felt like you would a fabric paper towel dispenser in a public toilet!
I can't take credit my husband had the idea, and now I have an idea of where he got it.

So true!! We find when we let our team members help with the brainstorming we come up with some awesome ideas too!
They sell non-glare sheet protectors too so they would work.
Now I know what to add to my shopping list!!

 Script roller
script roller is pvc pipe on a long peg board attachment, it is about 6 inches long I think.  Felt fabric slides over the pipe. Pages are taped to the felt. The old stage materials will be used on the new stage, it would be pretty hard to move, it is so big.

Genius!

Update on Caboose.  We had a meeting and found out that we will need to use the Caboose while the new stage is being built so they may not be cannibalizing it after all, unless that plan changes again.  We hope the new stage will be ready by Christmas, they start building in Oct so we are planning now. We had a meeting and explained how we needed special considerations for the puppets, the designers had no idea of what it takes to do puppets, but I think we got the message across that they will need our help for the stage to get optimum use.  Management actually came to our show and watched behind stage for the first time.  So now we are really encouraged and daring to dream big when last week we thought we were being replaced.  We are toying with the idea of how to make the bamboo fence height adjustable. My engineer son has a promising idea of having a low front fence about 3 feet high and taller fence that will adjust up but they won't see the gap covered by the lower fence. We are going to make scale models to show the designers all our ideas. When the Caboose was built we had a broader plan and each time a designer, builder, painter, or sound people got involved we lost a little more of the puppet function we had planned.  We are trying to make sure management understands about puppet special needs this time.

Ok my first thought is why are other people designing your stage?!  Man that always ticks me off.   They should let you design it. Now by design I don't mean you have to draft or build it, but they should take your ideas and execute them. I think your plan to build is model is an excellent one.

For scripts, songs, etc. we use the protector sheets and punch a hole in the top. Hang them on blacklight hooks that hang over the rails of the stage.  If they need to be lower, you can add a metal shower curtain hook or small chain to the hook.

Hang them on blacklight hooks...
What are blacklight hooks?  I can guess but have never heard the term and wondering if you have a picture or source you could list. Never know if I am missing out on a cool piece of hardware!
