Ping pong balls cut in half or you can sometimes find other plastic balls in toy, craft or sport stores that you can do this with. Also craft stores often sell both round and egg shaped plastic "ornaments" that come in two halfs that puppeteers use for eyes. They are normally clear and you can paint the inside or outside of them. I like to paint the inside because then it protects the paint from scraping off, but when you do that you have paint backwards. In other words you need to paint the pupil first and then the white.

You can also use self adhesive black shelf liner for the pupils.  If you look closely at the shape of his pupil it's not to hard to draw out.

Or you could buy a pair from Julie... I've NEVER been disappointed with anything from her

Ahh yes you are correct Goochman! Julie does have the blank half dome eyes and it really does make it easier to attach them.

That is pulled direct from your site Julie. I hope you don't mind in this case. Here is the link to the page for the small eyes. I think that would be the correct size. http://www.outoftheboxpuppets.com/index.php?act=viewProd&productId=165  Julie also has them in large. http://www.outoftheboxpuppets.com/index.php?act=viewProd&productId=166

These are the ones that I used on my little frog guy as well, the pins can be a bit uncomfortable on smaller heads such as Kermit, so I pinched them off and hot glued them from the top instead.

They're still on!!!
Re: puppet eyes Posted by Shawn on Aug 31, 2011
You can still use the pin to attach the eye in a puppet like your frog. once you get the pin through and attached you get inside and cut the extra off. You can also glue a bit of felt or fabric over that bit that is left when you do cut off the excess if it is rough.

Yes I know this take planning and foresight because it means you need to set those eyes into the puppet before you get to far along.  Should work if you attach the eyes before you sew the head to the body. At that point you should still be able to flip the head inside out and get to the extra post sticking out.
