Just wanted to say hi. A few of you already welcomed me in my first post so thanks for that. I am not a puppeteer but would like to be someday maybe. I work in magic and also am a hobby robotics person. I guess a robot is kinda a puppet, here's my work:

I think Freddie looks great and anything in my opinion can be a puppet. Like you I'm new to this site and everybody seems really welcoming.  Where I live in England there ant any puppet clubs so finding this site should help me when i'm stuck.  I make my puppets out of stuff we throw away.  I have subscribe to your channel on YouTube and will watch with interest.

Freddie is pretty cool! Looks like you are on your way to being a puppeteer actually. Can you tell us more about Freddie. I saw on the comments that you made him.

Yes I made freddie inside and outside. The mechanics werent that that hard, the electronics were most of the the time. He uses two micro-processors to operate and synchs up with the voice using a simple MP3 track that outputs one channel as the pre-recorded voice and the other channel as a tone for the processor, which then moves servos.  I use him on my magic show. He pops out of the box 3 times in my show. I am re-doing him in a smaller version, will post pics when done.

Welcome to the group, i think that freddie IS a puppet, there are alsorts of puppets and he is just one kind of thousands, and i think that he is awesome!!! we love this sort of thing over here at P&S!!

By the way that's EXACTLY the kind of work Disney Imagineers do!
