How did I miss a fellow Aussie? Welcome to the P&S hoard Buppetpusker! The Aussie contingents are certainly on the rise! Would love to see pics as Na said. How often do you perform? I get to Sydney a bit so would love to see your act and show some P&S love.

I perform when school and weather permit me to, whereabouts are you located?

Hey again. I'm in Coffs Harbour, so a few hours North of you. But I get to Sydney as often as I can. My brother is in Newtown so trips down to see him and catch some music keeps me sane!

I actually stayed in Darling Harbour a couple of months ago (this crazy old wool shed converted in to a motel!) and for the week I was there, didn't see a single busker. Twas very disappointing.
Re: Street Performing Puppets Posted by Buppetpusker on Mar 10, 2012
Darling Harbour (And worse yet Circular Quay) is meant to be one of the hardest busking pitches worldwide to busk, so I guess it's a blessing that I've learnt/am learning the trade there. Buskers are a fickle lot, during the Adelaide or Edinburgh fringe festival, or anything else like that, most of the big names pack themselves up and head to where all the money is, doesn't matter where globally - chances are you came down during one of those off weeks. Send me a PM next time you're in Sydney and I can tell you if I'm busking/will be able to busk during that period - after November this year I'll be busking full time as my source of income, once year 12 is over.

Do you ever come to Melbourne for the fringe?

PS Good luck for year 12! Lizzie and I are roughly 12 years out of school... I don't know about her, but I remember it being a busy and stressful time.

Will do Buppetpusker. Would be awesome to see! And yes, massive luck for all that lays ahead of you this year.

Oh my Na. Massive flash backs of those days now! At the time it seemed like the end of the world approaching and now it's simply a tiny dot on the timeline!

Yeah, it's hard to believe it's that long ago. Looking back, I think there's more hype than real stress in final exams... but then I wasn't trying to get into med school either so getting all A's wasn't a big deal for me
Re: Street Performing Puppets Posted by Buppetpusker on Mar 12, 2012
Na, I'm likely going to catch the train down to Melb for a bit after school is over, and then hopefully be able to do Melbourne and Adelaide Fringes. I have performed as part of the Sydney Frigne last year and I intend to again this year.
6 months until I graduate, 7 months until the exams start, fun, fun,fun :D

Me neither. I was one of those gifted children so thought I didn't have to study. My stress came when exams approached and my academic parents realised I'd spent my time doing all the naughty and illegal things 17 yr old girls do    when I should really have been memorising metaphysical poetry! I got through but by the skin of my teeth! I think I was grounded until I'd finished my first semester of Uni after that performance! (equally stressful!)

That sounds an awesome plan Buppetpusker! I hope you can make it happen

Update, I have been adding to this list for a while now. I have just made a simple playlist that I will just add more and more to as I find them.

the list is around 45 now, however I have multiples vid of some performers on other playlists. I sadly suspect that as economies get worse around the world, we'll see more and more puppets on the street.

Not sure why the link it not working to the playlist. I'll try to look closer at that when I get home to KC later in the week.  I did go ahead and make sure the URL is there it is just not a click-able link. You'll need to copy and past.
