Hi,
I'm a retired teacher doing volunteer work for the city of Mandeville, LA. We are creating environmentally themed puppet shows for this area's preschool and early elementary grades. Right now we are designing our own portable stage and also looking for volunteer puppeteers. The shows will only run three months out of the year: January, April, and November. If you can share any information about building a portable stage, or if you are interested in volunteering for puppeteering, please let me know. I am enjoying my newfound passion for puppets and glad to have found this site!

I looked up some puppetry companies that are in your area. Now granted they are doing this for a living so I doubt they are going to want to volunteer but they may be willing to give you some local guidance.
