She really is cool. But I still don't get why she gets around in space (not outer space) so much, I thought she was travelling in time?
Re: Puppet project Contest Posted by cruppetman on Oct 17, 2011
As I understand, the rules have changed, this year, for determining the winners. No longer a top ten. The judges will select the first and second place winners. Next, ALL the entries will be posted on a site for a popular vote to determine the PEOPLE'S CHOICE. After the alloted time for voting, the judges picks and the piolpe's choice winners will be announced. When you vote, you will NOT know who the judges selected.

So, when voting is opened, you need to go to the site, study all the entries and VOTE for your favorite. The people's choice winner will receive $100 USD cash.

Get out there and VOTE!!!

I'm excited to see how it goes. This is my first time building a puppet for the contest. I was surprised to see there were only 25 entrants. K

Great job on the Statue of Liberty. The material also had me curious, it came out extremely well. I'd never think of using a pleather material.

Thanks Na! My wife and I went to the fabric store together and actually walked around with a shiny new penny to match to. We thought that would be pretty close to the copper color we were looking for. When we found that fabric I groaned because I knew it would be a challenge to work with, but it was just so PERFECT for what I was doing that I had to go with it.

All will become clear when you read the accompanying text that I wrote up to go with the entry. So when Project Puppet gets the entries all posted you'll be able to read that and it SHOULD all make sense then...

Great job on your first contest entry JFP! Best of luck! This is my second year entering and I've had a blast both times!

Lastly thanks to all for their kind words and I join cruppetman in encouraging everyone to go to the site (when it's up) and vote for their favorite!

Looking at the pics, I knew it would be hard to work with, but I have to say you pulled it off extremely well. Hope you win!

There's only two things I can think of for the statue to be in space - Doctor Who or Ghostbusters... But I'm probably wrong, my memory of either is pretty rusty.

First time entering for me too. Second one of their patterns I've tried.

It was fun!

She looks great Elly! I want a close up of the nose. It looks like it had nostrils. How is it made?
Re: Puppet project Contest Posted by Puppeteer_Elly on Oct 18, 2011
Very easy...just three puff balls: one big and two little.
