i was actually wondering about the nose, too. i think my next puppet (which will be a hard-rocking monkey with a mohawk) might have a nose made of carved and dyed foam. Anyone else tried dyeing poly foam, yet? another kitchen experiment for me- it's all part of the fun.
Hope they have the rest of the puppets up on Project Puppet's contest site for voting soon. I can't wait to see everyone else's!!

Have an incredible day! Kimberly

Very easy...just three puff balls: one big and two little.
Very clever and a effective.

Daryl has a couple videos I think on dyeing fabric. http://www.blogtv.com/People/StiqpuppetsLive

Great job Elly! It had a whole 'Aunty Sam wants you' type feel to it, and it's great to see women's suffrage in the form of a puppet. That would be such a wonderful puppet to take into schools for studying social issues and history.

Thanks Shawn, i'll have to take a look later. i couldn't find anything on dyeing polyfoam at first glance. It's almost midnight, so i'm probably better off looking tomorrow with both eyes open! My other thought was just airbrushing on it. I might just go with Sculpey again- works pretty good for small noses. K

Opps! You know what I may have been remembering his videos on dying Antron.

He has his videos on YouTube also. http://www.youtube.com/user/StiqPuppets  That is part one of a three part series on dyeing Antron. The concepts are the same though so if you watch them I is going to give you some good tips when you go to dye foam.

I'm taking a try at this years Project Puppet contest to. I was going to enter last year, but time got away from me. This year will be my first entry. Question: how long does the judging usually take?
Re: Puppet project Contest Posted by Puppetainer on Oct 19, 2011
Elly - Nice job! Mrs. Banks would be proud!

Archangel - Well, last year was different as the prizes were all decided by popular vote. So I don't know how long the panel will take to reach their decision so that the popular vote may begin and we all get to see all the entries. I can't remember for sure but I believe they ran the popular vote for 1 month last year. So after that all the winners will be announced.

I love that there are several P&S members involved! It's fun to see what everyone comes up with. I'm always impressed with the imagination and variety of entries! Best of luck to all the entrants!

Thanks Puppetainer. Instead of posting a bunch of pics of my entry, you can view it's creation in video at my website if you all want. www.tgrpuppets.weebly.com.
