Was asked to make a puppet for class. I can sew but have never made a puppet before. After crying and throwing away several attempts decided to see what the web has to offer. Found this wonderful community! YAY! Going to attempt the how to videos on the basic puppet. Wish me luck! Any advice while im here?

Just follow the video's you found (not sure which ones you are watching) and you should be good. If you are not sure about something in the video just ask. If you can sew then you should be good.

Welcome! My best advice is to not be too harsh on yourself as you're just starting out. Everyone has to start somewhere. You'll learn and grow with each puppet you make. I would also strongly recommend Stiqpuppet's videos http://www.youtube.com/user/StiqPuppets
If you watch any or all of those you'll learn a TON of stuff. Things that many of us had to learn the hard way.

Whatever way you learn don't forget that puppets are supposed to be FUN!!
