New England area Puppet makers? Posted by CJ Puppets on Oct 12, 2011
Just thought I'd see if there were any other puppet makers in the New England area. Maybe we could share ideas, meet up and build together... fun stuff!

You might want to check out the Puppeteers of America. They have guilds, and there may already be activities in your area that you could join.

Not to discourage creating groups via this site of course. Just thought it might be useful to mention.

I was thinking something more of a fun get together.. nothing official or anything

I think some of the guilds - or at least from what I've heard - do 'unofficial' stuff, like meet and greets. That's why I suggested it, but I could be wrong.

I lived a year in Nova Scotia, bit north of Digby (there is a ferry to Boston, if I remember correctly). That would be in the area, too, but sadly I am no exchange student anymore...

Sorry, I'm hunkered down in Wisconsin.

Isn't that where the angles were sent to for punishment in "Dogma"?

Indeed they were Rikka! In fact one of my favorite lines from that movies is when Alan Rickman as Metatron says, "Ohhh, Bartleby. Was Wisconsin really *that* bad?"

Several years ago I helped design a board game built around movie lines and we thought about having a separate category just for lines about Wisconsin. It really is one of Hollywood's favorite locations when they're making a joke. And I'm 1/2 Lithuanian which is another of their favorites. It's okay though, the Three Stooges also claim Lithuanian heritage. Nyuk, nyuk, nyuk!
