Gift guide for puppeteers Posted by Na on Nov 02, 2011
This is an idea I discussed earlier in the year, and am finally posting it. I thought it would make a good topic for this time of year. I'm in the middle of drafting it, and I have some good ideas, but wanted some suggestions from you guys. I have the basics (more on that in a second), but am particularly at a loss for ideas for performers, along with just plain fun and unusual ones.

Some ideas so far:
Good scissors, storage units, sewing machine, puppet parts, subscriptions to mags or organisations, tickets to shows and books/resources, peepers (Hobey Ford's practice eyes), puppet collectibles/memorabilia, puppet parties, and 'cake pops' (see http://www.bakerella.com/street-party/).

As you can see, lots of good practical stuff, but I need more fun things.

Maybe Puppet- Roleplaying? (okay, I am geeking up again. But I really always wanted to do that!).

Gift certificates to amazon books,eBay,craft and fabric stores always makes a good gift. I always look for stores that offer free shipping select stores with good shipping options or websites with free shipping coupons that can be used on shopping cart check out.

Oh Rikka! Puppet roleplaying! THAT WOULD BE AWESOME! It's too bad we're separated by an ocean!

Is there a box set of the Muppet Show?  I would think a performer might like that.  It may seem silly but maybe finger puppets.  Ok I think I am lousy at this.

Going along with Shawn's idea getting the Labyrinth or The Dark Crystal movies on Blu-ray...it has some amazing behind the scenes stuff never shown before and it is epic, along with the movies of course.

I would also say all the Muppet movie's as well on DVD...I am sure they will be out sooner than later on Blu-ray with some great extra's as well.

Gift Cards to many of the above mentioned sites is a great idea as well as local/online fabric shops and Micheals Craft store.

Hope this helps with some idea's!!
