Warm hello to everyone and secret geek handshakes Posted by HeavenlyOdyssey on Nov 04, 2011
Hey all, I've recently just joined this site as I've decided to branch out and try my skills at puppets.
I've always been interested in them and they way they are operated, so when I stumbled across this site I knew it would be the perfect place to gain more knowledge on how to go about it .
I'm trying to aim for semi reasilism but with a soft edge, abit like the puppets used in Mongrels just slightly more real.
I'm hoping to get animatronics fitted but I only have basic knowledge...very basic lol, but everyone has to start somewhere right?
Failing that learning basic eye mechanisms are also of interest to me.
So that's about it *waves*

Welcome to PandS! If you are interested in eye mechs then have a look at DrPuppets videos. http://www.drpuppet.com/video_tutorial_page_1.html They are reasonably priced and would give you some insights into the basics.

Hello from over the ocean. Yes, we should make an unsecret secret society, that would truly be something- Geeks international not truly secret!

Welcome! As my cohorts have said you will indeed find lots of useful goodies here. And I'm sorry I screwed up the secret handshake. I've just had a hard time since we added the extra hip twist to the movement!

I was reading on your profile page that you build fur suites. Do you have any pictures of your work that you could share with us? I am intrigued by your avatar picture. Is that something you made? Would love to see a larger image with more detail.
