A Ghost Play with Marionettes! Posted by Abdolos on Nov 10, 2011
Hello everyone,

Here is the video of a spooky and depressing puppet play that I made for the Manitoba Association of Playwright's Halloween cabaret:

Don't forget to watch part 2!

The full-size marionettes in this play are from a series that I am making and detailing in another thread:

What a sweet fella! And I feel so much sympathy for Marquesa. I felt the same, once. Cool Sound, too.

I like it! You have great balance and movement already even without legs on the puppets. Once the legs are on and they are grounded you should get even more control. Great work!  Did you light with uv black light or just blue light?

I'm sorry you've felt that way, Rikka.  I've been there, too, and it's an awful feeling.  In the play, I wanted to account for why the characters became ghosts, so I had to have two events for each of them; An excess of passion, and their death.  But I have to confess that I stole a lot of the story line from this movie:

It's not a very good movie because so little happens in it.  But there's enough there for a twenty minute play.

Thanks, Shawn.  I am pretty happy with the motion so far, even with the temporary controls that I made for them.  For the lights, I wired together four basic fixtures that I then occupied with three blue enviro-lights and one "black" enviro-light.

Hmmm, maybe it is a occopational risk of being creative (even though it has more to do with the... gift than with your actual occupation)- creative people tend to be very sensitive. Can't have one without the other, I assume. I did have problems understanding the film, though. English is hard for me to listen to and the sound quality of an old movie... I hardly get a word out of five. I did read the Wiki Article, though. Hard stuff.
