Puppet commission checklist Posted by Na on Dec 03, 2011
This week I was contacted by someone for a set of custom-made shadow puppets, and it got me thinking how useful it would be to have a checklist of all the things that I should ask/do when in such a discussion. I took the idea of Andrew's ‘Puppet Pricing Calculator’, and made up an Excel file with a list of questions and things to check from the initial enquiry through to shipping off the puppet/s.

Everyone's welcome to use it, it's under the same creative commons licence as Andrew's calculator

You can download the checklist here:
(excel) http://www.schoolofpuppetry.com.au/media/patterns/Puppet%20Commission%20Checklist.xls
(pdf) http://www.schoolofpuppetry.com.au/media/patterns/Puppet%20Commission%20Checklist.pdf

If you have some suggestions as to how to improve it, let me know.

Looks good to me Naomi. The only suggestion I might have is to offer it in pdf format instead of Excel since not everyone has Office installed on their computer. That being said there is a free program that can read office files. You could also include a link on the page to it. Open Office.

I really like it as well....well layed out for the person who is starting out in the field and keeping our old timers thoughts in line...I would also add to make sure you make a contract out of it for the client to sign so that you both are on the same page and things can't change.

D'oh! I knew I'd missed something. An item has now been added for contracts.
