Not exactly new. Spend some time on Yahoo Answers and occasionally stuff will appear about The Muppets promoting a liberal agenda.

Only in America... at least from an outsider's POV.

When I was in the US, I couldn't watch any news on TV. Whether it was CNN or Fox, the 'news' seemed to me to be nothing more than editorials posing as news.

so, so lame. i can't believe this junk. they might want to look back at some of the old bugs bunny cartoons, scooby doo, grape ape and such to have more "NEWS" to report about the liberal media.
i'm embarassed to be associated with conservative republicans- especially when they pull this crap. so so stupid. how can you have a 2 hour movie without a cheesy typical bad guy? good luck with that.

Hm, well... Fox News. It even got over here that they really missing some marbles. There is a movie on how angled Fox News really is. To even use the term "brainwashing" for them is quite hypocritical, judged by this piece of... "journalism". Just my 2 cts.

Well I have not seen the movie yet but I would bet that they where trying more to say that "greed" was bad and not being rich.   I do have to agree that in America that news is no longer journalism but entertainment and editorial opinions.  Even the news programs that I do watch you can tell if they are liberal or conservative. Unbiased reporting is a thing of the past.

I used to watch the Jim Lehrer news hour (is that right...?), as we have a channel here that is specifically aimed at multiculturalism and so we get news programs from all over the world. I found it to be quite good, and in fact, was one of the better news programs even comparing to our Aussie journalists. That's not saying much though, since free to air tv - before digital - was five channels and three of those had 'magazine' news. At least one of which is run by Murdoch (sorry we send a few Aussie right-wingers your way, but you've sent us plenty of yours over the years ), although by far it's nowhere near as bad as Fox.

Honestly, I could only stomach a few minutes of Fox - and was amazingly surprised at how editorialised CNN was given the number of good things I'd heard about it over the years.

Do you guys have a show that is critical of media? We have one, called 'Media Watch'. During the year it's ten minutes of the government-run channel taking a look at the mistakes, unethical acts, etc. of journalism in Australia. It's really a great program, and isn't scared of taking shots at its fellow journalists from their employer. I think it's probably the best 10 minutes of journalism every week.

Wow, I wish we had a show like that! Journalism is going a bit sour over here, too. Okay, some is good, but one of the biggest newspapers in Germany is so rotten, you insult dead fish by wrapping it in that paper(V. Pispers, not mine- I just translated). MoneyXXL means PR, I guess. Murdoch has gotten in here, too.

I think that newspaper-fish thing is global.

Na, now I am right into angst...
I did hope it would be better elsewhere!

Well, I don't think anyone does it here anymore. But I know they used to.
