My most recent puppet is finally complete.  He's been introduced somewhere else on this site, but I thought I'd post his final look here anyway.

In this pic he's ready for the silly season.  He found the red bulb beside a dumpster behind a WalMart.  The hat he got from a department store Santa who stepped outside for a smoke.  In the spirit of the season, he let Santa smoke half of it before he attacked.

Turned out great! I particularly love the stitches around the mouth, he has a lot of character.

I love the facial features and he just oozes character. Aweosme work!

The eyes don't light up.  I made them out of resin and cast them in one of those little white paint pallets you buy at Michael's or the dollar store or whatever.  The rheumy one has a little blue paint mixed in and it cured misty.  Not exactly the look I was trying to get but it still worked out well. 

The other eye is clear resin.  I glued a green foam dot on the back and then a piece of yellow felt behind it.  The gives the eye a bit of depth and it does somehow glow a little bit.  I guess it's just light reflecting through the clear surface.    But it creates an interesting glassy effect and it also allows the pupil to appear to follow you a little.

The folded skin gives him a lot of character, it looks amazing!

Thanks so much.  He's fun.  We had a Christmas open house last night and I had him as a centerpiece in the dining room.  He was a hit.
