Best puppetry sites of 2011 Posted by Na on Dec 15, 2011
I just published my top 5 (really top 6) list of puppetry sites for the year. There's a lot of great stuff that people here might be interested in checking out: a blog on automata, two on stop motion, a diary blog of someone's trip to last year's National Puppetry Festival, a blog on water puppetry, a blog on prop making... and the sixth is our very own Stiqpuppets.

Thats great info Na.................. You forgot to add yourself as one of the best websites for 2011

Aw, thanks

But I think it would probably be unfair to include myself! Actually, there were quite a few sites I left out, but in comparison to the top 6 they weren't as good, including my own. Plus, many on my list for last year were just as outstanding, but I thought there's no point in relisting those as that would mean no new ones added for this year.

The automata one I literally only discovered yesterday while doing research for the list, and I just *had* to add it.

It's really great to see so many people out there not only discussing their work, but willing to share the behind-the-scenes stuff of how it gets done. Puppetry continues to be the friendliest craft

Can't take all of the credit. After all, if there weren't great sites out there, the list wouldn't exist!

That may be true but it is you that takes the time to search them out for us and for that we Thank You!

Not really: again, it's all about other people. When I check my website stats I often view the google searches people use to find it; I then click on interesting links for patterns, tutorials, etc that I haven't seen before. They get saved in my bookmarks and often never get seen again. On occasion I'll find a blog worth reading; then it may stick in my head.

Really if the site is good enough to be memorable, it's because of their work on it, not my ability to search them out. Research is easy; writing good content is not.

But thanks for the thanks   I'm glad to know my very small efforts () are appreciated!
