I have a hard time getting people gifts for Christmas, and usually end up building quite a bit; So I use Christmas gifts as an opportunity to flex my creative muscles. This year, I built a Kraken automaton for my brother and his wife. As you can see, the mechanism is well founded in my marionette work:

Thanks everyone. It was nice to work on something that didn't take months to complete. Now, back to the marionettes!

Do you know what a Kraken is? It is a giant squid. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kraken Actually they are not real creatures but they are part of sea going lore.
