30 pages ! faint... in a weekend.. double faint. I hope you don't need hospitalization after such an effort. That is truly to be admired. I wish you all the best for the shoot.(eat lots of pizza) Our next one is back to a park. The last one was supposed to be quiet, but turned out the opposite. We will be only doing a couple or three pages.

I'm not sure we'll get the 30 pages in. We're going to give it our best though. On top of that, we have two cast members who can't be there Sunday, so we have to get them shot out on Saturday. If you don't hear from me, check the local hospitals and see if I've been admitted. Either exhaustion or insanity. One of them is bound to get me.

We have a reporter from our local newspaper coming in to the set tomorrow to take some pics for a story about local filmmakers. So keep an eye out for some puppets in the Hamilton Spectator over the next few weeks if you're in the area. And if not, www.thespec.ca can hook you up.

One more half-day of filming to go and then principle photography will finally be complete. Saturday was a marathon 13 hour day and we wrapped three of our actors (aside from a bit of voiceover work we'll have to do). Lots of laughs, lots of fun. But in all honesty, this project proved to me much more labour and cash intensive than I expected and I'll be happy when it's finished. Hopefully the end result will be worth the effort we put in.

Well done PoorFishy, I know what you mean. Our shoot got rained out this weekend, so it was studio work which I was not prepared for, and only three shots done in both languages....not bad shots though. Just my opinion, but I love the colored versions of your puppets...and its amusing how your characters look a lot like their puppeteers
With all the publicity and interest you are generating, you should be preparing yourself for further projects. They will be knocking on your door! Keep up the good work.

Thanks so much. Too bad about getting rained out. That's the toughest part of outdoor scenes though. The weatherman doesn't seem to care about the production schedule.
It's funny how the puppets look like the actors. I didn't do it on purpose, but I wonder if subconsciously that's what happened.
As for further projects, that would be great. But not yet. To be honest, I need a little bit of a break from puppets for a while. This project has been much larger than I expected it would be. Framing shots for live actors is much easier, as is doing things like walking across a room, opening a door, picking up a phone, etc. A simple move leads to a complicated series of shots.
I love your work too, by the way. Very elaborate. Very impressive.

I am really glad you mentioned that. I think often folks feel they will use puppets in something because it'll be easier or cheaper. Not true.

Well, we got all 30 pages shot over the weekend. With the exception of one set up for one forgotten line of dialogue, Uranus is in the can!
