Si Paulo, I agree.
Thanks Na for your input. The validation process was helpful. Ouch. lots of little mistakes to correct. Oh well, we are just beginning. I will give the http://www.phpform.org/ thing a try when I get some time.
You may be right that there are such things in commercial programs, but I have never had the cash to buy one, and the few that I did try always had this step missing. The free stuff I found NEVER had this step. It was always ways to stimulate ideas...the step before this one, and then actually getting the script written, which is the step after this one. That is why I wrote the first program I did. I used it for probably half a dozen years constantly. Anyhow, anyone who wants to use it can, if it is helpful to them.No obligations.

Pretty cool little page. I bet it can only get better! The questions really do make you think.

It is amazing that you are so good at everythng you try. This is a great idea. I tried a story and it organized it well. The page numbers appear to be the time lapsed rather the page numbers to me. Hope you get it working even better. I made a script to highlight my scripts for each speaker that really saved me lots of time, it was just VBA in WORD, the harder part is making it user friendly for others.

Thanks Shawn. Yes, making you think is exactly what it is supposed to do. The thing is, that if you have some gaps, just jump to the next box and come back to the tricky bits later, and then eventually you get it blocked in. I hope I have got the main points. As I said, its not hard and fast, but it has helped me when I have a writers block or some idea that has holes in it.
Thanks also Snail. I know there is a short bit of code that truncates the numbers for the pages. I have not put that in yet, but I found that a third or half a page was good when you do just a 5 min script. If you do a 120 min feature it does not make much difference. I also found with the feature we are working on, each of the individual 13 min segments , you could run them through the same process to further fill the blanks. I also am finding that my pacing in the filming and editing , I tend to go 10% longer than the standard page length, so I aimed at 100 mins or thereabouts to get 120 finished movie. The same happened when we did a 7 min short that almost got into the theatre here. I had to shoehorn or compress 30 seconds or so to get the 7.00 spot on, which the theatre was impressed with.
I did look at VBA for Word. I had a really good plugin for it called 'write' but then I went away from Word, and so I started looking at HTML and Java. Obviously Na, I still have lots to learn
This may seem all very mechanical to some, but the old saying about 10% inspiration 90% perspiration applies. The inspiration comes when gathering your ideas, but in film, you then have to laboriously and mechanically make it fit a time schedule minute by minute.

Hey, you've done more than me in terms of coding forms. I have only done it once and it was merely the usage of a free tutorial plus a couple of other tutorials for minor additions; just something to send emails via a web form. It didn't require much skill because the tutorial was quite good.
Validation scares me too. Mostly I do as much as I can and forget about the truly fiddly stuff. (That's mainly because I work with a CMS and don't want to hack the core code)
I think I remember ages ago I tried using a scriptwriting program. Mostly I found it was all about making formatting easy, with maybe some additional things for storing plot info and such. But I think yours would be more useful because most any document program can do easy formatting but it's far harder to have a standard procedure to create your storylines and characters with. It's a really good idea. Especially the number of minutes because I know for me I have trouble figuring out how much puppet action = how much time.
