Well here in the US it is pretty easy to find. You can get it at pretty much any craft or fabric store. There are tons of on-line resources for craft fur also. A search on Google Search: Google should pull them up for you.

where in the UK are you?? i dont seem to have any problems finding fur anywhere and everywhere, but there are alot of great uk based fabric shops online to choose from, just do a little google search, maybe google search for any shops in the city you live!!
the mongrels where mainly made from custom fur that was specifically made for the guys, i got to see the puppets and they where awesome, but i doubt you would find that fur anywhere, however you may find some similar that you could do some special distressing on to make it look closer to the fur they use?!?!
good luck and message me if you need any help.

Just a quick note about distressing and shaping fur. People often will boil, yes boil, fur in order to give it a distressed matted look. You can shorten or shape fur that is longer with scissors just like you would cut someones hair. I've used that technique quite a bit in the past on animal puppets. Often the fur of an animal is long except around the muzzle or mouth. Instead of using two different furs you can use the same longer fur for the puppet and then trim the fur down on the muzzle.

Thanks for your help peeps! What is good for a flexible mouth interior? Do any of you use plastazote?
Re: Info needed in the UK Posted by jeezbo on Feb 11, 2012
I have no idea what plastazote is, but most of us use gasket rubber for flexible mouthplates or thin polyfoam, but there is no hard written rule as to what you can use, if it works, it works!! ive used neoprene rubber in the past with great results, so if you can srimmage an old neo bar mat from your local pub, you can experiment before you make up your mind!!

Is this it? I think we refer to it as neoprene in the US.
