Here is my sons whatnot. He has since had me glue the eyes, nose, and hair on because the velcro was messing up the material.

I think my wife got ours at Toys R Us. It might be a bit of a cheaper version than what is sold at FAO. It had 3 sets of eyes, a couple noses, and I think 2 wigs. But the constant on and off of parts that you would expect a kid to do, started wearing on the material. So I kinda convinced him it was time to glue the stuff on. It was about $60(US). Which is another reason I want to build my own     JoAnns had anti-pill for $4.99 a yard yesterday, so I got several colors.

Oh yeah! I forgot about those. Those are indeed very much like a cheap version of the original Whatnots!
You'll be able to build excellent puppets with that fleece. I've used some version of that type of fleece to build most of the puppets featured in my photo gallery. Have fun!

I am loving the ideas of the Whatnots! And yes Na, it would be fabulous to play in July! If it's okay with you, I'd like to bring one of my designs down too. I'm so excited!

Hey Gary...What part of Eastern, KY?  I live in NYC, but I'm from Ashland, KY originally!

Knott County, near Hazard. I havent been back there in years, but we drove thru Ashland for Christmas 2010. Really liked the area, which at the time was nice and snow+y. My kids are all Floridians so they hadnt seen snow before.

Sounds great! I'll have to dust mine off, he's a bit dirty (still in the packaging though). I'd love to see one of yours in real life - the dragon maybe?
