Hello All Posted by Puppeteergirl on Feb 27, 2012
Hi everyone!
My name is Emma McLean, and I'm a puppeteer in the Kansas City, MO area. I have my own puppet company, Wit & Whimsy Puppets, and I have worked with the Puppetry Arts Institute as a puppeteer for many years. I was trained to use marionettes by Pady Blackwood, who was the artist in residence at PAI. I have developed several puppet shows, most of which are marionette shows.
I have recently begun to create foam hand puppets after taking a workshop at Puppetfest Midwest which was taught by Drew Allison. I'm really glad to finally join Puppets and stuff, as I've known of this website for a long time but never got around to registering. I'm looking forward to meeting more puppeteers and puppet enthusiasts, as well as learning much from all of you!
My website is wwpuppets.com
You can visit the Puppetry Arts Institute website also, at hazelle.org

Hey welcome Emma to PandS! Did we meet the last time I was at PAI by chance? There was a workshop going on and I helped out then sat with Daine and some of the other workshop folks while they had lunch.

Welcome. We are in and out of KC several times per year. Have several friends in the area.
Haven't heard about the Puppetfest midwest, can you post more info? Seems to me there is a place on here for festivals, conferences, etc. It would be great if we could update it for this year.

Yes, I remember meeting you! You showed me some handy tricks to speed up hand sewing time. You also urged me to join Puppets and Stuff! I also remember when we had your puppets on display as our main exhibit.
