I don't think my dolls are very manga faced (even though there are quite a few mangas and animes I enjoy- I might be getting there, someday). It is more the way the dolls are build: http://www2d.biglobe.ne.jp/~dhnoah/make_00.htm
I modified the joints somewhat and I use a different material (Fimo). But it is really hard to form those joints, I am just starting to get satisfied, you need quite a bit of training. I think I thrashed 4 dolls yet and didn't care too much about finishing the fifth (I will, eventually). Now I am on my 6th BJD and she finally starts to look okay. But I really have to redo hands and lower arms (her hands are WAY to big and I don't like the wrists)- I like doing hands least of all! I think I will at least do 4-5 more before I try to move them. And I need some aluminium tubes for the elastics. Right now I put in brass tubes that I pull out again- this slows down the process too much for my liking.

So you would leave the aluminum in?  Why can't you leave the brass tubes in?
Re: Prince Poppycock Puppet Posted by Rikka on Apr 19, 2012
I could, but they are harder and so it is not as easy to cut them right- sawing takes some time and a side cutter tends to press the tube so the elastic wouldn't fit any more. I hope that the soft aluminium is more easy to saw. Also: brass tubes are a little more expensive then alu ones...
