You guys are so lovely -  ever the optimists! Thanks for your encouragement and kindness.

I've been playing with him a bit and am discovering new ways to manage him. Not at all what I'd envisioned for him but we'll get there! I made the decision to stop beating myself up about it. Fact is, puppet building is relatively new to me (just over 6mths) and I figure I've fluked it thus far and was bound to falter somewhere. At least this mistake is a lovely one.

I've been working at this for more than 6 years now and can tell you that I'm STILL learning with EVERY build! Of course I'm never content to build a puppet the same way I built any of the previous. Always adding something new to the mix. Which leads to that educational bit. Sometimes things work out the way I hoped and sometimes not but I'm always learning.

Your puppets are so unique and such a wonderful expression of your own creative impulses! You should absolutely be proud of all that you've done. Keep on creating, discovering and learning!

Naww, thanks so much Marc. I am in awe of your puppet creations so that means a great deal to me. Looking forward to seeing the lion!

Hey P&Sians,

I'm so pleased I re-read this thread. There were ideas here I had forgotten about and may help me now, a few months down the track and at a loss, to develop my routine. Thanks as always for your brilliance!

I was hunting for this thread as I took the plunge and started a youtube diary thingy at the request of a few anti Facebook mates who wanted to see my puppets. By take the plunge, I mean I was home alone on Saturday night - no surprises there - had a couple of beers and was lulled in to a false sense of reality where I somehow thought 'yep, this is an awesome idea'.   Evidently I am not made for the camera nor is my camera made for anything except being thrown from a great height in to oblivion, but que sera, I took the plunge and now you can see Yazid the Giant Yeti in the flesh.

Yazid

There/s a bunch more on there of equally poor quality should you care for some masochism.
