SmugPuppeteer here. Posted by SmugPuppeteer on Mar 31, 2012
Hello all.
Started making my own puppets after attending Avenue Q a couple of years ago.
First puppet made was Trekkie Monster. Very ambitious project to start with but was completed in less than 3 days and is still a favourite of everyone that sees it.
Then made a Kate Monster for my wife who is still sitting incomplete after 2 years as we are unable to locate the right hair for her.
Recently made a small Audrey II puppet with attached jacket and fake arm. Wanted one of these since I saw the stage version of Little Shop of Horrors when I was 12. Adults love it as much as kids and even when I watch my mate use it at parties I am impressed with how well the illusion works.
I have always been a huge fan of the Muppet Show and Sesame Street as well as general entertaining. I use Trekkie and Audrey II frequently in my performing.
With bub number one on the way I am looking to get back into puppet making and have a few friends with young children that love Sesame Street and especially Elmo. Will have to update some images to see what others in the puppet world think.

Nice work on your puppets. Did you use a certain pattern as a base or just create one as you went? I kind of looks like you may be creating your own from the pictures of the foam skeletons you uploaded. Again good job!

All were created as I went and I have since kept a carboard cutout of the pattern so I can reuse them as the need arises.
I don't have any images of Audrey II without the material cover, but that was carved out of 2 x 10" foam blocks.
