New puppet movie project in Brisbane, Australia Posted by SCUBASTEVE on Apr 12, 2012
A local (Brisbane) film maker is making a short film for the festival circuit and could do with some attention... Check this out and "like" it on facebook to help improve interest from prospective investors.

And their fundraiser page, with options that get you poster packs, or even right up to a credit in the film and a puppet version of yourself (that may be used in the film too) : http://www.pozible.com.au/index.php/archive/index/5388/updates/0/0#info
The face book page also says...
"A puppet, HP Lovecraft adaption, of his work by same name. Our goal? The HP Lovecraft Film Festival, September 2012.
Come join, as we venture into some fun, film making territory and compete for a spot in the festival. Thanks for 'liking', this page and make sure you check back, for updates!"
and a little more about the project... I don't think they'd mind if I shared this here... Cut and paste from part of the casting letter...
"PICKMAN is a comedy; a story about a lonely, eccentric artist, who tries to
make friends with a terrified art critic. The adaptation is taken
from one of HP Lovecrafts' most famous terrors, 'Pickman's Model'.
Although initially created specifically for the HP Lovecraft Festival
in Los Angeles this year, we now feel it will have a place in a
variety of niche film festivals overseas.
The creators, Brooke and Colin Fong have been working on the project
for a number of months and are both independent filmmakers from
Brisbane. Colin has worked on shorts, feature films,
music videos, live visuals and television in Australia and the United
States. He specialises in production, camera and screenwriting. Brooke
divides her time between art department and personal creative
projects, which have also included work for the HP Lovecraft Literary
Podcast.
Casting is starting in the first week of April and we are looking
forward to meeting some fun actors/puppeteers, who may be interested in
playing a role!
The characters are as follows:
Pickman: a lonely amateur artist who is desperate to make friends and
impress people. He is enthusiastic, hyperactive and he comes on a
little strong.
Thurber: a serious puppet with a professional demeanour. He is a
loner, easily unnerved and highly strung.
Roger: is a loyal friend and eager helper. He is full of mischief and energy.
Enis: is a country boy, simple, superstitious and prone to
exaggeration. He speaks and moves slowly, and is a good storyteller.
It's a fun story, with a fun crew. We look to be filming over the
last three weekends in June and there is some flexibility with this."
SO check them out, even just some web traffic may help and if you want to donate as well I'm sure that would be appreciated
