Hi folks, I just thought I'd give it a try and joined http://www.deviantart.com/ . For me it fits pretty good with P&S. I'd like to know if anybody else is there, too?

I used to be there a long long long time ago. Nowadays whenever I visit it takes about 1 hr to load a single page, and often dies as soon as I click a link. Now I avoid it as much as possible.

It's good for inspiration though. It's also not so good if you're looking for creative commons stuff, because a lot of it isn't clearly marked with copyright info.

Sorry to hear that it doesn't work for you, technically. Well, they say (maybe that is new) that nothing is creative commons, all rights belong to the artist or agent that uploaded it. All one can do is ask the artists permission and I doubt it would be for free. I didn't join for free stuff (I only ever needed music, anyhow and for that I have freesoundtrackmusic.com) nor for "technicalities", only for the ,well, showroom.

Sorry a misunderstanding - creative commons refers to a range of copyrights that an artist can choose to use. Ie. attribution only, but no one can use it for commercial purposes; attribution and with payment; no use at all for anything; etc.

I agree that the site has its useful points, I just wanted to make a point about this not being one of its strengths.

I am not a member but I think maybe we have a couple members who are. I know that there have been links posted before to images there for inspiration. I never realized though that they had an Artisan Crafts category.  I always thought they where a 2 dimensional art site.

They seem to have all kinds of artists and I would have liked to meet someone from P&S there. And maybe get some advise and some tips from the more then helpful crew here...
Okay, Na, now I get the point, thanks for clearing that up for me.

My nephew has some of his art on there "nico37" he has done some 3 dimensional stuff and it is very deviant. You may like it.  I've been encouraging him to make some puppets so he may be here eventually.

I think I know what you mean. I really liked his Awakening of the New Growth. I hope he'll pop in...
