I have a couple really soft bears like this.  One is a plush polyester/nylon blend and the other is mohair.

I see these from time to time in the fabric stores but it is hit and miss. Not even really sure what it is called.  I did find a couple new resources on-line that look promising. http://www.jongstit.com/pile_toy.php  I think this one may be your best bet. Look through their Pile listings. http://www.dear-bears.com/our_catalog.html  This place has some nice stuff although it is kind of hard to tell for sure what the fabrics are.  The link above is to their PDF catalogs that don't have pictures but if you scroll to the bottom of the page there is a link to their on-line store that does actually have pictures although they are not real good.

Ahh... I think I found at least the correct info on the fabric. http://www.alibaba.com/product-gs/412284119/100_polyester_knitted_plush_toy_fabric.html?s=p  This is an Alibaba source so it is going to be wholesale, i.e. 1000 meters min, but it does have the info on the content of the fabric. There is also this one. http://www.alibaba.com/product-gs/527816624/100_polyester_knitted_and_bandhnu_plush.html

It is a 100% polyester and it is knitted.  The knit is either weft or tricot. Actually I think the weft knit is closer to what you may want.

Yep, you're looking for Plush fabric. There are some fabric stores that call this "cuddle fabric". They keep it near the terry cloth and such instead of near the fake fur. Don't know why. Good luck to you!

They also have plush felt and plush fleece, but it's not as huggable as the mohair or the synthetics.

First let me just say again- you guys are soooo AWESOME!!
I love it that I come and check tonight, and you have been so busy helping me out. Yes, I think that fabric is the 100% poly knitted plush that is on Alibaba. That led me to search further and I think I might have found some at Distinctive Fabrics, that I can dye. What do you think of this fabric? I'm going to check with Julie too, and see if she has or knows of any.

Thanks, Kimberly

Thanks, Billy!
That's great fabric- looks like just what I want.
I have a 40% off code for their site, so I think that I'll get that.
Thanks again!!
