hello everyone, i am new here, and new to this kind of community. i have been poking around a bit and still have some exploring to do. there is some really cool stuff that i have seen so far!!

i have done sculpture for some time and have gotten a bug to create these hanging characters. this guy is one of the characters that i have been drawing for some time. i dont quite know where a product like this would fit in so i wanted to introduce myself and see if anyone would know where would be a good place for me to expose these works? i have a few of them and they each take around 40-60 hours to create depending on complexity. they are art pieces for sure. i will start selling on etsy for now. and want to start dong custom work if anyone is interested or knows where i could start introducing myself to the puppet community. thanks all for taking a look and hope to be around for some time!!!

Welcome to Puppets and Stuff ninosboombox! What a unique and creepy character! Awesome work, I look forward to seeing more. I'm sure others will be along to welcome you and offer up suggestions. Etsy is a good starting place but I would think that if you have enough pieces you could begin approaching galleries. While I do have an art degree I've never personally gone the gallery art route so I'm afraid I have no knowledge or expertise to offer in that area. I'll be pretty surprised if we don't have several members along soon who do though.

Well, puppetry is a multi-art form, so many people mix and match. Sculpture goes hand-in-hand with a lot of puppetry out there. There's quite a few puppeteers who also sell furniture, make installations, etc. I know a couple could be found on Puptcrit or Facebook.

Welcome to Puppets and Stuff!  I think you are in the right place.   Like Puppetaineer suggested, see if you can get them in a gallery. Also I think that Na's suggestion of Puppethub.com is a really good one.  There are quite a few puppet collectors over there and they may very well be interested in your work. There may be some collectors that drop by here but I don't think we have as many.

Feel free to ask questions if you have any.

BTW:  I love the marionette you posted the image of! Very nice!  Can you give use more info about yourself?  Do you have a website or FB page... stuff like that. When you do list on Etsy make sure and drop back in to let us know the link to the listing.
