Greetings from Ottawa Canada Posted by fromthemill on May 02, 2012
Hello!
I'm Patrick, an amateur putter-builder from Ottawa, Canada. I just started making puppets last year and I'm fascinated by all the wonderful things I've seen here. There are so many things for me to learn!
More recently I've begun my search for fellow puppet-enthusiasts in my part of the world. If there is anyone in Ottawa who is looking for someone to collaborate on projects, bounce ideas of or just build puppets with please let me know!
In the meantime I look forward to sharing and learning from all the wonderfuly creative people on this forum.
Thanks for having me!

Welcome to Puppets and Stuff Patrick! You've certainly come to the right place! We have a number of members from Canada but they'll have to chime in with specifically where in the Great White North they're located. I look forward to seeing you round the forum!

Welcome! Normally Stiqpuppets would be the guy to chat to, as he's Canadian and usually a regular here... but he's gone walkabout lately.
I recommend visiting: http://unima-canada.blogspot.com/
It's the puppetry organisation in Canada, and on the right you'll find a couple of province-located orgs as well. Lots of info about events in your country.

Welcome, Patrick! I spend a year in Canada as an exchange student. First I was 6 weeks in the University of Guelph, later I stayed with a family in Nova Scotia. Canada is great!

Welcome to PandS! Andrew is also from Canada. Toronto specifically. Sorry my Canada geography is not the best so not sure how that relates to your location but Andrew does get around and is involved in quite a few puppetry projects in Canada. Here is his site. http://puppetvision.info/

Thanks so much for the warm welcome and all the advice.
I have been looking through the resources you've been sharing and I have been able to email a couple of puppeteers in the area. I still haven't heard back from them, but I'm hopeful that they'll get in touch with me soon!
It's very exciting to see that many of the puppeteers who's blogs and youtube channels I've been following are members of this forum!
