I have a puppet that I want to build, but, I want to give him fur hair....And the pattern I have for this kind of hair is kind of confusing me.  So, does anyone else have a pattern for fur hair that is easier to understand? I need it soon. Thanks!

Well, it's from 1995 (It's almost as old as me?!). It's a pattern I inherited from my grandmother when she passed away. She made several of the church's puppets. All I really know is it's called "Creating Your Own Puppet" and it was written and sold by mastercraft puppets in Branson, Missouri. That's all I know about it. I'm not using anything from it except this hair pattern. I used it before and the puppet was WAY TOO BIG.

I have never heard of that pattern and I have at least 25 or more. Take the head pattern you are using and make a pattern using a old t-shirt. Put it on top of your finished head and make any adjustments to it size and shape then cut out a pattern. If this suits you then lay in on the back of the fur and trace the pattern. Be careful to not cut fur fibers to short  by using a sharp razor. You can also cut from the fur side by parting it and cutting it with scissors or razor being careful to follow your pattern line on the back.

Thanks Shawn! Thanks Rikka! I worked hard, but, he's not perfect... I lost the drawing I made of him. I made it to remember what I wanted him to look like. Luckily I remembered everything. I made Drew here because I'm about to retire one of my older puppets. The puppet I'm retiring was one of my first so, I want him to stay intact. Now I have to make a little girl puppet. Maybe when school gets out?
