I need Ideas for lips for my Bertha puppet. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

There was a discussion about that (a year ago maybe?), I didn't find it though. I had the idea of using padding and shiny cloth, Shawn and some others made some cool suggestions that slipped my mind since I work in clay... Maybe someone who's a website archeologist could dig it up again... I will try again, though.

Well some folks use paint or markers to color lips direct on the fabric. You should always test our the method you want to use on a scrape fabric to see how it works.

You can cut out felt in the shape of lips and glue or sew on the top of your other fabric.

Some folks go for a subtle look and put another layer of foam under the skin fabric in the shape that they want.

I think that is most of the things we have discussed before. I am sure if I missed any someone will be along soon and add them.

Verna Finley (puppet builder) paints her lips on with acrylic paint and then uses wax paper to iron on top of the paint to seal it.

You can't see in this photo but she has a bone in her hair, I made from air dry clay.

Great job! a match made in a heavenly cave. Good luck getting him to Konk her in the head with his club and dragging her back to his cave. She looks like a pretty tough cave woman and very capable of doing some clubbing herself LOL.

Wow! They are so great, but she really is the adorable (if slightly scary) one!
