She is absolutely stunning. I can't wait to see her in action. Really love the magnet ideas too.

Thank you, However I'm noticing that the magnets need to be really strong. The problem is when I try to move her into certain postions the second magnet or the one under the cloth or whatever "pops" off.

Does anyone have any suggestions to help with that or know where I can get good strong magnets from?

Sincerely,

Mr Spoon

Search for 'earth' magnets. They're the strongest you can get, and come in various forms; strip, 'pots' (small round ones), etc. There are a number of online places you can get them, but you might have the best luck looking for industrial suppliers rather than craft stores.

By the way, earth magnets have certain health risks, so you will want to read up on that before using them. (Not major ones, and not necessarily ones to prevent you from using them - just that if you're using them to attach to people's bodies, it might be worth ensuring they don't wear pacemakers etc)

This is an Aussie store, but it has lots of really great info about earth magnets.

Yeah, I'm planning on using magnets for a future puppet design, so I looked into this stuff a while ago. Who knew there were so many different kinds of magnets?

Ok Everyone...

I have made a quick 2min video that shows some very basic movements and controls for Sapphire. I have not had a long time to work with her so the footage is little rough and raw.  Also I can tell she is going to be a handful... She likes to give me trouble!!!

The Making of Sapphire

Please let me know what you think, Thank you!

Mr Spoon! She really is amazing! I love the movement she has and she just oozes personality. What do you intend to do with her performance wise?

Oh, and I'm digging that beard of yours!

Oh, I am so totally in love with Sapphire! I didn't even build a decent human puppet yet and I am already into a dragon now- that is your "fault"...
Oh, and I agree with Lizzie- cool beard!
