el rinoceronte Posted by pagestep007 on Jul 09, 2012
I went to a show this weekend in Bogota Colombia . Some very interesting concepts. It was two hours, but a condensed version you can see here:

I particularly  liked the style around the 10 to 12 minute mark.
each act the puppets are different...  It is in spanish, does not seem to have subtitles.

It is a cool show... but I really miss not having been able to take Spanish at school...

Not to worry Rika. The story was classic non-sense, about  how a French town everyone turns into a rinoceros, except one guy. But very well performed non-sense nontheless. I enjoyed it from a puppetry point of view.

I've always felt that a the mark of a good puppet show is that it can be enjoyed and understood by the audience even if they can't speak the language. Good video!

Very nice. Was this a puppet company that presented this or a "traditional" theater troupe?

Shawn, it was a group put together by an invited Spanish producer, here in Colombia. I think they will be touring internationally. Our head puppeteer was auditioned, got a part but had to turn them down, as he was finishing up his  university studies, and could not dedicate the time.He graduated last week and got to see the show he  missed out on.
Yes billy, the set was very versatile and got the imagination going really well.
and Stiqpuppet, hope you have fun on new directions on your project. All the best to you.
