Deviant Art Contest Posted by Rikka on Jul 24, 2012
Wheeew... I know some members are in DA, too. Finally I kind of made it out of my box and entered a contest (voting will start tomorrow -and I guess then I will go on a fingernail diet). If anyone would like to take a look:

Great job as usual............ not sure how the deviant art thing works. Tried to leave a comment but wanted me to register. I have a Rolodex full of usernames and passwords now. I'll check it out more later.

Thank you, but it is a heck of a competition. First I wanted to enter a picture of a figure and build it before I read the terms of the contest. Bad idea- I could never have stayed within the 5-colour-limit with a photography! So I did the bean nighe instead... I will try to post the unicorn, too, though...

So, this was my original concept...

Even though I could not use it because of the 5 colour limit I really enjoyed building my unicorn stallion and I learned a LOT- about building quadrupeds and about image processing... Enjoy!

Cool. What did you make him out of? like how big is it? He's cute.
Re: Deviant Art Contest Posted by Rikka on Jul 26, 2012
He's 16 cm high (6,3"). I made a "skeletton" of wire and Fimo (so he is partly posable, the horn is screw on), glued white cloth on it, sew white fake fur onto that, had dolls (angel) hair for mane and tail, painted the face (eyes are glass, lashes I bought), hooves and his genitalia (they are white cloth, too, felt a bit strange to sew them) and then put him in a picture I took while I walked the dog (living close to the forest is wonderful, I missed it so much in the city).
Thank you for your compliment, I really think I am getting better at this. He was processed for prints already and someone put him into a gallery. I am happy and exhausted!
