It IS a great course!  I would recommend it highly!  Tom is a great guy and he breaks things down into nice steps which are easy to understand. If you want a nice way to learn ventriloquism this would be it!!

I'm looking forward to trying the first five free lessons. $97 seems like a real bargain for what is offered, based upon Lisa's recommendation. Now, where did I put that $97? It's not in this pocket...

Most of the ones I see are like he discribes, just a quick overview. This one seems pretty good. Haven't really heard too much about the guy doing it though. If I get any other info I will post, but this, so far looks pretty legit and worth the price.

This has been out a few months now and I know one of the beta testers and he said the course is good. I've also emailed Tom Crowl who is a graduate of the Maher Course of Ventriloquism: http://mahercourse.blogspot.com/, as well as private lessons and mentoring, he's really good. I know LJ is a graduate of the Maher Course as well and I'm working on my final exam and it's been around for a really long time and is highly respected by most all vents. Regardless, as with any skill, there is a multitude of ways to learn vent, it's simply finding the what and how that works for you and practice, practice, practice,...etc.

I have taken the Maher course, I have also graduated from level three of the Ventriloquists In Training course offered by Creative Ministry Solutions (which is no longer offered however) and I have taken private training from professionals - Mark Wade, Stephen Knowles and Ken Groves. So believe me when I say that $97 is a bargain for what Tom is offering through his course. I have countless videos of ventriloquism courses as well and what I like about Tom's course is that he makes is easy to follow and digest in small steps and then once you have all the lessons you can go back to specific lessons to review the material you are looking for. There is also a forum which allows you to ask questions or get feedback. You must submit a video for your "final exam".
Tom Crowl is a great guy - he is so kind and approachable and is truly out to help people not to make a quick buck like some who create courses like "10 easy steps to becoming a millionare!" Trust me on this!! I have been to Vent Haven ConVENTion only two times so I do not claim to know everything about all the working professional ventriloquists but there are definately some vents who I really do not respect. Tom Crowl would never be on that list. He is a quality person and a great ventriloquist AND a great teacher. You won't go wrong with this.

Well, thanks for the input. I am always looking for better ways to teach different aspects of puppetry and this course looked good because it is something that seems to work well one on one as well as a group.
