Hello Folks:) Posted by tbonepearson on Aug 18, 2012
The forum has lots of great videos and talk about puppets, so I thought I'd join and share.
I've got a baby dragon puppet in the works right now, it's slow going but I'm getting there.
Blinking Dragon Eyes

Looks good. Do the eyes only close halfway, or is that just a matter of camera angles?

I like him. Cast latex for the covering I assume?  Sweet work on the Spellfury shows. http://spellfury.com   Love the product placement in the Season 2 Episode 3 that was showing on the main page.   Are you doing the mask work also?  Look forward to seeing more of your puppets. Some of them in the background of the bar scene look really cool!

Hi Guys, Love the site, I'm glad I found it!

Hi Na, I just shot a video of the eyes in the head, I'll post it as soon as it's uploaded, it took me forever to get the latex from touching the eyes, I used wire clothes hangers to pull the skin away.

Thanks Shawn, yep, latex skin, Thanks for checking out the show, lol, that was me playing the little fairy bouncing around.
Most of the puppets in the tavern were made and puppeteered by Matt Ficner (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Matt_ficner) , we were lucky to have him help us out, he's worked as a puppeteer on Farscape and a whole bunch of Hollywood Films.

The one's I made were Mumsy, the Big 8 Foot tall Monster and the Dragon in the opening credits.

I LOVE puppets so they'll be more and more in the show as it goes on.

Cheers,

Travis

P.S. Here's the newest episode S.2 Ep4 Spiders, Fairies and Dragons, Oh My! (Spellfury Season 2 Episode 4)

Yep, I built the dragon, I think he turned out quite well, my first sculpture got destroyed from trying to cast the reverse mold the wrong way. How To Make a Dragon Puppet

He is really coming along. The movement seems pretty smooth. Does it trigger pretty easy? Is the return a rubber band (the blue) or is that the trigger?
