Little Steve, trying to use as much reclaimed stuff as possible Posted by Carlos Guarda de Cadeia on Oct 12, 2012
Little Steve needed a guitar that would fit his character, so...a real sigarbox, 3 string.

As with any guitarbox guitar: a sigarbox! Cut a few spaces away for the neck...and the shape is already there.

Some paint...and old copper scrap parts...and even a plug to make it look real.

Combine everything together...and with in an hour you've got...a Sigarbox guitar for Little Steve!

Only problem so far, are the strings from his knees...they seem to be in the way for all others. Got to think of something....

Love the look of the guitar! The added jack is a really nice touch.

Looks like your knee/leg strings are pretty taunt. On my marionettes they are strung looser and are on a detachable leg bar that is removed when he needs to walk. Even with controls that use more of a connected rocker bar they are normally not so taunt.  Anyway you can work that in?  That might get them out of the way some for you.

Steve has almost got my surname... and almost got my beard!(and so therefore, naturally, he is a handsome fellow) What a beautiful cigar box (eyes glazed over) Lucky you, I only have a cardboard one.  We all await a video with him in action. It has been an interesting build (thanks)

Is he going to have pupils or eye color on his eyes or are they just rolled to the whites for now?

Well......It`s been a while, sorry folks, but there was a lot to do in the rural heart of Portugal.
Choppin' wood, rebuilding a 200 year old ruin in to a workshop etc.
But Little "String Sick" Steve is ready!
Had some problems with his movements, he just came out heavy. I had to make a special seat with a support to let him sing a whole song. But it works!

How the creator controls Little Steve's mouth.... eyes....Little Steve's left hand.

All controles with one hand, except Little Steve's right hand. Little Steve's own personal piece of tree.Sliding helped by a little elastic band.

How the controles look.... yes really like stuff saved from the bin.....
