Re: How much to charge for puppets at craft fair? Posted by Out of the Box Puppets on Aug 21, 2012
Based on my experience $25 sold quite well for a 13" childs puppet. It's really about interacting with the customers. We don't sell to parents for kids any more because of the safety regs, but when I first started i sold at a few crat fairs. If you engage the child and parent and allow the kids to play with the puppet (suppervised) with the permission of the parent then most of the time they will purchase or come back and purchase for a gift. It's all about listening to their reactions, caring for them and letting the product sell it's self with out pressure. We always let people put their hands on the product and encourage them to just enjoy. People want to know you care not just want to sell a product. Sorry, long story to say $25 is a good price. Remember don't forget to count your time as cost. Keeping in mind that if the craft fair is more of a garage sale, swap then you might not get the higher price.

thank you guys for your help. I have been to Octoberfest here every year for asd long as i can remember and things are really expensive. There is a smaller Fall Fest 10 miles away at the end of September, I'm going to do it first and see how it goes. I'll go read the links you found me, thanks.

You can always go down on a price however you can't go up on a price while talking to a potential customer. The thing with craft fairs, flea markets, etc.most people love a bargain so if you are wanting to get $20 each you can price them at $25 leaving $5 to play with offering a discount to a customer if needed. Another marketing strategy would be one puppet for $25 each or two or more puppets for $20 each.
