It's good to know the guide is still there - must remember to update my bookmarks.
The video looks good! How long did it take to make? (I mean the video itself, not the puppet)

Ok you must be insane pagestep007! If I am calculating right you built that little guy and did the video test all in about two days. This is along with all your other projects. So do you ever sleep!

well... I found some wire in the evening after checking out the youtubes and web sites you guys supplied (got excited) and the following morning while doing the morning routine, glued the chin wire in to a broom handle offcut I just found conveniently on the workbench.(then went out to get some medical results, and reinstall someones computer, while a render was going at home) In the afternoon did some editing, while I glued some foam on the head, and about an hour, siliconing, then took a son to music classes.. and (Na) about half an hour on the video, because it was not planned or precise at all and only a couple hundred frames. and got to bed by 11pm.

You make me tired just reading this, pagestep007... Yes, I really loved this channel myself. I bookmarked it before I even joined P&S. He is fantastic. Have you watched "the seventh skoll"? It is hilarious.

Check out Puppets in Prague, their website has some stop-mo resources as well as the details to their stop motion sculpture/animation course.

That's pretty good - I had expected it to take longer. I tried doing stop motion once and only got about 15 seconds worth after a few hours.

Na , it depends on how good your animation is going to be. It can take forever if you are a purist or perfectionist, or extremely talented like the Ardman animators. They even do 'rehersal' animations...if they get a few seconds done in a day is a lot for them... but they are superhuman and awesome. I'm pretty slap dash when it comes to stop motion.
Re: Stop Motion Puppet Building Tips Posted by Na on Sep 18, 2012
The one I tried was definitely a lot more complicated than yours: lots of little pieces of paper moving all over the place. Very time consuming and fiddly. I think having one puppet to animate is far far quicker to do.
