Umm... the balls are colored ping pong balls that I just happen to find at walmart.
They looked bigger than ping pong balls in that photo. Cool find!
I love how he's turning out. I'll have to show my husband when you are done.

He is shaping up very well! Yep got to be careful with the contact cement or you get all loopy.
Sorry to go off topic but wasn't it great! Man I think the cherubs are creepier then the grown ups!
Finally, while watching the fall season finale of Doctor Who ...

Hey Gang,
So It has been a few days since my last post...(anyone still here? LOL!) and Godzilla like puppet is almost done. He needs a few nips and tucks here and there before he is done. Which is good cause I will officialy need him on October 26 for my girls school halloween event.
So, here is a picture of his teeth which was made from model magic and then cemented to his mouth.
Now, I will be the first one to tell you that I am my own worst critic when it comes to making anything! My wife gets annoyed when I start trashing my own work... But I always feel I could do so much better. This puppet is no exception. Timing, planning and execution was off in my opinion. However, I do think that Godzilla will function for what I need him to do with flying colors. What pains me is that the image in my head doesn't always match the final product (sometimes a good thing, sometimes a bad thing) in this case I'm a little flustered and a little down because I know I can do better work. Although, I like the fact that I have documented this project as well as I did so that I can learn from my mistakes.
Anyway, all those who took the time to give me comments or even read this post I thank you.
So, I'm going to upload some of the current pics of Godzilla and will post them soon...
Sincerely,
Spoon

I think you did a good job! He does have a lot of personality. Even with the teeth he still has a friendly look wich I think since you are using him with you daughters class that will be a good thing. Thank you so much for sharing this with us!

Well, I think he's great!. Love the fabric skin colors, cool expression. Love the hands (they look like they will do some very interesting things),and... make some more! You did great.
Don't stress yourself on a build. When you make a new character, it is always a bit of an unknown adventure (notice the word 'adventure') I usually make a prototype or two, as you will invariably make mistakes, but you can sometimes rescue a prototype and use it as a monster Actually I did make a monster for a short movie once, using all the unsuccessful experiment parts laying around the house. And also it helps to see what suprises happen. let some of those 'mistakes' improve your concept. Sometimes I am as suprised as anyone at how some things turn out. You can always make another one anyway.
I hope your presentation goes well.

The Elf Puppet I made was attempt #4. But 2 of the 3 "mess-ups" are still totally usable heads. Just for a completely different build. Mess-ups aren't mess-ups. They're just puppets wanting to be something other than what yo had planned.
