I have been contacted by a Christian children's book to build them a puppet based on a character in their books. If all goes well, they want at least 5, possibly more! It's my first project for someone outside my own group. Wish me luck. I'll document the build as it happens.
Oh, and I was contacted by someone else to do a 4' Chinese dragon puppet too. These should keep me building for a couple weeks!! lol

Couple of weeks?!... Guess your children and wife are not going to be seeing you for awhile.

Nah, See I'm 'weird'. Most people think ADD is a bad thing. Yes it makes learning more challenging, but I think its a blessing. I can't sit still and my mind doesn't stop. Give me some foam and let me go! I have learned SO many skills and crafts because of my ADD.
Besides, my daughter (who is OCD. A rough combination with a dad who is ADD!!) is almost 18. She only comes here to sleep...

I've heard that ADD folks can react faster to crisis than others because they don't get frozen. They make good Emergency workers. So does that mean you are not paralyzed by looming deadlines? man I could use some of that. Hope your builds go smoothly.

I wasn't able to work on it at all this weekend. But had the last couple days free. Took 4 tries to get the head to what I wanted, but here is #1!
The real candle is drying, but I used this to give the idea. Also, yes my hat is green, not purple as in the picture. But inside the book, the hat is green 90% of the time. Only 2 pictures show it purple.

Fantastic!! you must be phsyched that someone has asked you to take on these custom projects, there are alot of guys out there that are crying out for the work and you are getting it handed to you!! Im ADD too and i cant see it as anything but a gift, we are like machines and our minds will think about a problem until its solved and that is usually half the time of someone without ADD!!! the Elf is looking awesome and i cant wait to see the dragon!!

So cute! I have an elf puppet in my head I want to make for December so I love seeing this guy! He really looks like the character on the cover of the book.
