A Puppet Series Posted by BoozeBandPuppets on Nov 14, 2012
Hello everyone. I'm going to break my bad habit of posting videos all over the place in the forum, and try and keep them in the same place. I have made a few music videos and other odds and ends, but it's really the short episodes that are the most fun and challenging to make. We have completed 3 so far and we are now starting to shoot 3 more new ones (it takes a while!) I thought I could just add them to this thread each time I up load them to my Youtube channel, instead of annoyingly firing them into various sporadic topics. Here are the three in order so far, and as I say, new content is coming soon if you would like to see it, I will put it here. The sets are improving and so are the jokes, but the acting ain't! haha Thanks for watching, this community forum is full of inspiration and great work. It's really kicking me into trying harder

Well I am in a hotel right now with a really lousy internet connection so can't get the videos to play so can't comment on them. I think it is great that you are going to post them all here though... that way when I get home I can view them all.   What I saw of the videos before though I think you guys did pretty good with the acting and it'll only get better with time.

Happy that we could inspire you. I am sure you are doing the same for others.  Keep it up!

Are you on holiday, Shawn? I've been in France last week for 4 days with my husband...
Re: A Puppet Series Posted by Shawn on Nov 15, 2012
No I am not on holiday. I am in Nashville TN working on a show at the Grand Old Opry.

I decided to use some audio from footage I had and make a small video in my new set build this evening. It worked out ok! I am confident that I can use the 'Shed' set in the new episodes, just need to adjust the lighting to be lit less from above I reckon. Anyway, here is the video:

I don't believe I have ever seen dueling banjos with just one banjo, you play good.  You could do your edit magic and use the same banjo with another puppet for the echo part.  Hampster in the wall is my favorite video, how do you keep that brick on the swing?  I think your acting is really good. You moved your mouth like you were working hard while you played the banjo, little movements like that add so much to puppets.

Hi Snail. Thank you for the kind words on the Banjo playing, I shall pass them on. It's actually our saxophone player John who is playing, he's also a master of the fiddle (he does a mean Devil Went Down to Georgia as well!) We considered the 'Eco' idea but we ran out of time to record the audio. My Brother will be pleased you like the 'Hampster in the Wall' episode, he says he had got into his writing rhythm by then - it's his fave as well. Again, thanks for noticing the 'concentration' puppet face pulling. I used to like the way Jim Henson would scrunch up Kermit's face when he was angry, such a simple but genius way of adding expression! Hopefully we will have some more episodes finished soon.

Seeing as it's getting to that time of year, here is our Christmas Song video.(one of our first - spot performers arms and hands!!! eek) Should be working on the new one (an original song no less!) but it's taking it's time! So this will have to do for now!! Happy Thanksgiving to all

I didn't see the hand just caught a bit of arm but it was not bad.  Nice work!
