Sounds good everyone! I have to make Chocolate pie for Christmas again and with my son and daughter-in-law staying with us I will be making poffertjes (a Dutch mini pancake) for breakfast.

I'm cutting back this year! so far I have made p-nut butter balls , chocolate truffles, red velvet brownies, pecan sandy cookies,
baklava, vege dip, green olive cheeseball, brownies, cranberry orange cheescake, smoked turkey salad, and honey roasted spiral ham. I know this sounds like a lot but i usually make arounf fifteen different type cookies and a dozen or more candies. It is rough being diabetic and watching folks devour sweets. Merry Christmas everyone.

Thank You LJ.............. i would like to think that everyone appreciates it but if the truth be known only half of the people that recieve these gifts really value the work that goes into it. This generation does not have the sense of tradition that I was brought up with. Just like many dying arts baking is one of them.

so.. mexican Tamales are different from Colombian Tamales?  Here they tend to be a rice thing with chicken,  meat and veges cooked in Banana type leaves, and  reheated steamed. We have them every few Sundays to rest from cooking.

I learned years ago from a team member from Cuba, but they are like the ones here that I belive are more Tex-Mex.  Mine are ground pork or chicken with spices wrapped iin Masa then steaming in corn husks.

Billy, you cook like me.  This is the first year I haven't made cookie candy trays.  Business has kept me hopping along with preparing for dinners.  Note to self, take more time off BEFORE Christmas. LOL

Cooking at the holiday usually stresses me out!  Good thing I have daughters that love to bake!  They take after their grandma.

Cutting back, you say? Sheesh, I'd hate to be in your kitchen when you're doing your normal amount!
