New Puppet Site for 2013 Posted by KeithAllison on Dec 29, 2012
Hey Folks!

Just wanted to post that I'm launching a new few new puppet sites in 2013. The first being Puppets365.com. www.Puppets365.com will feature one new puppet every day for an entire year and each days' puppet will be added to the puppet wall and will receive a shout out on Twitter. I'm hoping for the site to be a mix of user-submitted puppets as well as puppets I find from around the web. Anyone wishing to submit a puppet before the site goes live, can email . Include a photo of your puppet as well as a brief description (one paragraph) of either the build details or a bit about the puppet's characteristics and it might just end up being featured on one of the days! Don't forget to include a link to your web site or facebook as I'll gladly add that as well.

Thanks!

Keith

Finally got the site finished. You can check it out at Puppets365.com. There's a Submit a Puppet link on the nav bar so that you can send in your puppets. Your puppet doesn't have to be perfect or amazing, it's just about inspiring people to get up and make puppets!
Hope you enjoy it!

Nice work Keith! Looks like you already have some great examples of puppets listed. Best of luck in this venture!

Can I just request that for any photo you plan on posting you make sure you have permission to use it? I have found a ridiculous number of people stealing my photos without attribution and/or permission... It pisses me off mightily.

Other than that, sounds like a brilliant idea!

Arthur - received your submissions. Thank you!

Shawn - Thanks.. It should be a lot of fun and a lot of work tracking down puppets and meeting new people!

Na - Check out the site. All descriptions have full attribution, links to the builder's site or facebook or etsy... I'm not just slapping a photo up or claiming it's my work. I want all the builders to be recognized for their hard work. Now there has been a couple from ebay where I couldn't get in touch with the builder but I still listed the builder and their web site or link to the puppet on ebay or heir ebay store...

As an artist / web designer / etc., I know all too well about people stealing images. I had a Chinese toy company steal one of my 3D renderings and turn it into an actual product that I received $0 for... so I get what you're saying.

I think you missed my point - giving attribution is not the same as having permission to use an image. In fact, unless the photo is clearly marked as creative commons, then you shouldn't be using it at all without written permission.

However, we basically agree and I probably didn't express myself properly. Especially given we've had similar experiences!

No sweat.  And for me, if you like any of my pics, use them at will.  I'd just ask to credit PuppetSmithArts.com.

Yes Jungle Joe just go to http://puppets365.com/ and use the Suggest A Puppet link.

BTW: Keith your URL in  your profile was wrong... you missed "p" in puppet.  I am going to go fix it for you now.
