Got an error:

Went to the home page, was logged out, got the following in a popup box:

Triggered ajaxError handler. http://puppetsandstuff.com/cooliris/07.xml - 0 -

Thanks Na.... ajax call to retrieve the list of gallery images failed. Can happen from time to time when the server gets bogged down. The thing is I should have removed the pop up error handler for this and forgot. That way when it happens the user really never knows.   Had the error handler on while I was building things.

I noticed actually that if the site is slow to load - say, when I'm having trouble connecting to the net - another ajax error loads, but disappears once the site completely loads. Forgot to take a copy of the message...

For now I've turned off the error pop up.  It was kind of just a catch all really to help me debug.

Shawn,
I missed the New Reply function.  In new format it was unusable on my computer, all squished up in a thin box.  I went back to old format guess I'm a whimp too.

You use Internet Explorer, don't you?  I need to figure out why I.E. Insist on doing that.

No I can understand that folks may not like the new version.  That is why I left the old version around.  There will be some tweaking I do to the older version over the next few months.  Also let me know what it is that you don't like about the new version if you do switch back.  Part of why I've made some of these changes was so I could make the site more customizable by each member.

P.S.  Na had mentioned in another post that the QuickReply Preview button was not working.  I know have the fixed and when you click on it the preview is generated above the post box like it is on the full post screen.

Everything is working just fine on safari, IPad.  Funny, I never use the preview.  Maybe I should I have had to modify some of my post for typing errors. LOL

Ok I have the New button working on I.E. finally.    You should see the list of new post displayed in a nice wide box that has one post per line now. Fixed a couple other issues also.
Re: PandS 2.0 Posted by Gail on Jan 31, 2013
I liked the new version. In the old version I like to go to New Replies first and then to New posts.  In the new version since the New Replies was a thin box about half inch wide it was impossible to read in EI 8.  So I was using the New posts box instead but it took much more of my time to sort thru all the posts to find the ones where someone might have responded to my post. I was feeling less like coming to look since it was taking more time than before. Anything that helps us get quickly to the posts we care about would make us come by more often. Also I liked when it started at the top rather than the bottom, don't know why, guess I am just used to scrolling down more than up and I had to think more. It helped that the picture popped you back to the top. I have one more thought.  Sometimes on the New Replies links I go to one and then have to leave for some reason and when I come back it is gone and I have to search and search to find it again.  I wish I could put a sticky flag on that post that I had not finished so I could come back to it, is there a way to do that now?
Re: PandS 2.0 Posted by Shawn on Jan 31, 2013
Snail... so you checked the New button again and it is working for  you now right?   Just wanted to make sure.

Not sure what you mean by started at the top instead of the bottom, unless you mean that the links in the New dropdown are set up to go direct to the newest post that you have not yet seen, but that was how the old one was set up... hmmm... that is unless you where using the full page version of the new post... maybe that is what folks are missing.

In regards to your question about if there is a way to Flag a thread to go back to later... Yep that would be the Bookmark button at the top and bottom of each thread.   That has been there for quite some time.  I installed that because like you I was finding threads I wanted to come back to latter and explore more. I guess it is a bit confusing since it uses the work "Bookmark". Most likely makes folks think it to bookmark in the browser but it is not. Maybe I should change the wording to something else.
