Hey everyone, Starting a new project. His name is Cecil and he's a retired organ grinder monkey. He is a little bitter on how his life has turned out but has a good heart despite what he'll tell you. He smokes cigars and hates bananas. I posted a few pics in my album. Just roughing out what he'll look like. So far I like where it's going. Please share your opinions. 

cool. you may have a tight fit through the neck. But he looks like he'd be a great character.

He's going to be a vent puppet so will have a control rod. The neck will be a little larger in the final puppet but not too much. I will be giving him side to side moving eyes, blinking eyelids and a moving brow. Thanks for the kind words!

After much mind wrangling, I decided to make Cecil both a hard and soft puppet. His head will be paper mache. In order to incorporate the mechanisms in the head I'll need a hard surface to attach them to. The rest will be foam. I'll cover it all with fleece. Of course his body will have to have a rigid frame to accomodate the control rod. That will be covered with foam also.
  I see Cecil with a little pot belly. Probably wearing lederhosen. Just the shorts and suspenders and of course his fez. The clothes will be a silly contrast to his otherswise gruff exterior.

Like his facial expression.. "wiseguy eh?!" Sounds like he's in safe hands.
